Your donation will enable the publication and educational outreach of the book Drayton Hall: Perspectives on a Place and Its People, the first of its kind in the nation. Rather than being written solely by historians or curators, it features over 35 interviews with site descendants (both White and Black), board members, donors, staff, and professionals in history, tourism, museum studies, and historic preservation. By editing and producing this book, Dr. George W. McDaniel is seeking to show how museums and historic preservation organizations can enhance biracial understanding and be a positive force in today’s world.
